Community

The Spot @ hope street

With the goal of improving the streetscape,  walkability, and greening of the neighborhood to increase community engagement, business activity and commerce, and overall property values in South Park, the BID has begun working with the City (Mayor’s Office,  LADOT,  CD14 council office) and expert professionals (traffic engineers, landscape consultants, etc) on developing a pilot project to enhance and temporarily activate the northern 1/2 of Hope St between 11th/12th Street by creating a green, protected area in the middle of the street (starting at The Briks and down to where parking structure ends).  The vision for the end product is a public community space that will be managed/programmed by the BID and serve the South Park neighborhood.  This would include greening the area, having a dog friendly space, as well as other neighborhood amenities and programming, such as art classes and play elements for children.
